You spend 30 minutes with Dr Nish Shah at the clinic. He looks at your face, shows you what has dropped, and tells you if threads will work, how many you'd need and where.
The threads go in through a few tiny entry points under local anaesthetic, and Dr Nish Shah lifts each side while you watch. It takes 30 to 60 minutes. You might be a bit swollen for a couple of days, but most people are back at work the next day.
You go home with aftercare notes and Dr Nish Shah's direct number, and he sees you again after 4 weeks. The threads dissolve over 6 to 9 months, and the new collagen they leave behind keeps the lift going long after they've gone.

No. Threads lift your own skin back to where it used to be, so you look rested, not different. Dr Nish Shah adjusts each side while you watch in the mirror and stops when it looks like you.
You have a local anaesthetic, so you'll feel some pressure but not pain. You might be tender and a bit swollen for a couple of days, and paracetamol is enough for that. Lots of the reviews above say how little they felt.
Most people are back at work the next day. You might have some swelling, tenderness or a small bruise for a couple of days. For two weeks, avoid the gym, facial massages, the dentist and opening your mouth very wide, and sleep on your back for the first three nights. There are no stitches and no scars.
The lift lasts 12 to 18 months. The threads dissolve after 6 to 9 months, but they leave new collagen behind, which is why the lift lasts longer than the threads. At your 4-week check-up, Dr Nish Shah will tell you if and when a top-up is worth it.
Threads work best when skin has dropped, like jowls, lower cheeks or a softer jawline. If there's a lot of loose skin, surgery may do more than threads can. You'd also need to wait if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection, have very thin skin, or take blood thinners. Dr Nish Shah checks all of this at your consultation.
